Briony is an Occupational Therapist within the Evolving Potential and Potential Ability departments working across the lifespan with clients and their families in Murray Bridge and Southern Adelaide fulltime.
Briony completed a Master of Occupational Therapy degree at Flinders University and has held a strong passion for working with older adults through occupational therapy since the beginning of her studies. Briony loves getting to know people, and really values hearing their stories and experiences. For Briony, this passion stems from her love of spending time with her grandparents, great aunts and uncles whilst she was growing up; hearing their stories from life between the 1920’s to current day. Briony includes one of the highlights of her OT training as being able to work for two months with clients 65 years and older within the adult mental health area, where she feels she learnt as much from the clients as they learnt from herself and the team.
Briony also worked predominantly within the Paediatrics field throughout her studies, spending several years working across the different roles of being an Education Support Officer (ESO) for a Catholic primary school, an accredited swimming instructor and as a disability support worker, and loved working within each of these roles. Briony is thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to combine her skills and knowledge from these different areas into the field of OT and enjoys the vitality, energy and constant surprises you get from working with children and young adults and adults.
Briony is a social person both within her work and home life and loves to spend time with family and friends. An enthusiast for anything involving the ocean, Briony could happily spend all day snorkeling, stand-up paddle-boarding and swimming at the beach. Briony is also passionate about cooking, gardening, yoga and netball, and find these hobbies keep her relaxed, energised and connected to the important people in her life in her time outside of work.
